A hesitant breakout
The 03:00–04:00 UTC candle closes above H4. Its small body and upper wick suggest a weak close, even though price later reaches H5.
PATTERN RESEARCH / ENTRY CONTEXT
We’re building research tools for traders who use price levels to plan entries. Define the setup, examine the conditions, and make the reasoning behind a decision visible.

HISTORICAL STUDY
01 / A SPECIFIC QUESTION
An hourly close above Camarilla H4 creates a defined research setup: an assumed entry, a target at H5, and a stop below H3.
The 03:00–04:00 UTC candle closes above H4. Its small body and upper wick suggest a weak close, even though price later reaches H5.
A simple close-quality baseline waits for stronger confirmation here. It would also miss the move to H5. That trade-off is part of the question we want to investigate.
Baseline: waitXAU/USD bid quotes from Dukascopy, 18 March 2025. One-minute OHLC data is aggregated into UTC hourly candles. The market break at 21:00 UTC is left empty.
Previous session, 17 March: high 3002.665, low 2981.975, close 2999.518.
H3 = C + 1.1 × (H − L) / 4
H4 = C + 1.1 × (H − L) / 2
H5 = (H / L) × CH3 3005.208 · H4 3010.898 · H5 3020.330.
H4 is the level name; the candles are hourly. Calculation reference
Assumed entry: signal close + $0.20. Stop: H3 − $0.50. These buffers illustrate the setup; they are not calibrated parameters or recorded fills. Fees, spread, and slippage are excluded.
The illustrative baseline requires a bullish body of at least 60% of the candle’s range, a close in the top 30%, and reward/risk of at least 1.20. It uses only information available when the signal candle closes.
The historical chart and local calculations illustrate a research workflow. No AI model runs on this page, and this selected session is not evidence of predictive performance.
02 / THE PRODUCT DIRECTION
Our hypothesis is that contextual AI analysis could help traders compare entry conditions and understand the reasons to enter, wait, or pass.
Start with repeatable levels, entry conditions, and invalidation.
Make the evidence and competing interpretations easy to examine.
Test the filter on unseen periods, including losing trades, missed moves, and costs.

Our entry-filter concept is at the research stage. We’re exploring how contextual analysis could support the review of defined trading setups.
